भारतीय साक्ष्य अधिनियम, २०२३ – संक्षिप्त संदर्भ

Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, 2023- Sankshipt Sandarbh is positioned between a Bare Act and Commentary. The objective of this work is to offer readers a text richer than a Bare Act but not as voluminous as a Commentary. While the provisions of the Adhiniyam retain the core principles of its illustrious predecessor, the various structural changes and re-numbering of provisions require everybody to re-orient and re-equip themselves with the altered landscape of the law of Evidence. This Concise Commentary earnestly attempts to facilitate the transition.

The author has tried to be brief and lucid while explaining the new provisions introduced by the Adhiniyam and highlighting the changes introduced in the provisions of the Indian Evidence Act, 1872. Comments after each section provides the corresponding section from the Indian Evidence Act, 1872 and highlight the changes brought in along with relevant principles of law and judgments.
